Rev. Pedro Salomon Alvarez 89, of Palatka, FL passed away peacefully on May 5, 2020 at Haven Hospice-Roberts Care Center. He was born on July 7, 1930 in Monterey Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he was the son of Ascension Alvarez and Elena De La O. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Beatriz Alvarez. Their children Pedro Enrique (Judy); Noemi and David Carlos (Sandee). His grandchildren Jason, Vincent, Peter, Issac, Vanessa, Mimi, Nino and Marissa. He had several siblings by both sides of his parents: Ruben, Virginia, Pedro, Lazaro, Teresa, Ricardo, Juan, Rosario, Alicia and Arnulfo. He began his Theological studies at the Spanish American Baptist Seminary of Los Angeles, California then went on to graduate from the Theologico Seminaro Baptista de Mexico en Tlaplan Distrito Federal (Mexico City) receiving his Bachelor degree in Theology. Pedro was ordained on March 22, 1968 at Bethel Baptist Church of Saginaw, Michigan his first church. Married Beatriz Alvarez in El Paso, Texas; they moved as newlyweds to Kansas City, Missouri. Pedro was a minister by calling, a Carpenter by Trade. He began learning the trait of being a Carpenter at the tender age of 9. Pedro became a professional fighter at the age of 14. He fought 32 professional fights, all over the world. Fighting at Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl and the Coliseum of Mexico City. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, swimming, bullfighting and music. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach, FL.
