Marilyn was born August 24, 1927 in Queens, NY. Her parents, Ralph and Helen Mancuso (both decd), emigrated from Italy making her a first generation Italian-American. After graduating high school, she married Louis Riso (decd) and dedicated her time to raising her three children. It wasn’t until later in life that she started her career. After gaining experience working for various home decor retailers, she ventured out on her own and started a successful interior design business. Marilyn also had experience in real estate and was a licensed realtor. Marilyn enjoyed traveling. Italy, Australia and Singapore are just a few of the places she visited with Bali being her favorite. She was an accomplished seamstress, a skill passed down through generations. She cherished music and had a beautiful singing voice. Her love of schnauzers is well known. At one point in her life, she bred and raised them. Marilyn was always fashion forward and had a great sense of style. She was legendary for her quick wit and jokes. She was predeceased by her husband, Wally Herrington. Her son, Louis Riso Jr. Her grandson, Danny Ficocello. Her brothers, Danny Mancuso, Ralph Mancuso, Kenneth Mancuso, Arian Mancuso. Her sister, Celia Aiello. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Ficocello (Michael, decd). Her son, Dan Riso and daughter in law, Lisa Riso. Her stepdaughter, Caroline Herrington. Her granddaughter, Michele Ficocello. Her grandsons, Daniel Riso Jr., Matthew Riso and Kyle Brandow. Her brothers, Ronnie Mancuso and Raymond Mancuso. Family and friends will be received Saturday, July 21, 2018. The memorial gathering will be from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 5:00pm. Arrangements are in the trust and care of the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach.
