Margaret Ann Canfield (Brain) (aka Margie, Marge, or Margaret Ann), 89, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on July 27, 1932, in Endicott, New York to Harold Gilbert Brain and Mary Jane Brain (Williams) and was married to Harold J. Canfield in 1950. She graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1949 and became a Registered Nurse, receiving her training at the Binghamton City Hospital School of Nursing. She fulfilled many roles during her nursing career including Head Nurse of ICU/CCU at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Virginia and chart reviewer for Medicare in Northeast Florida. She was an avid cat lover, enjoying the company of her beloved Cantonese as she and Harold criss-crossed the country in their RV’s. Margaret Ann spent many years volunteering with the Red Cross, Hospice, and other charitable organizations as well as the National Park Service. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine. Survivors include children Steven J. (Connie) Canfield, and John H. (Mary) Canfield of Palm Coast, Florida, Randy G. (Edith) Canfield of South Pasadena, California, and Tom B. (Roxanna) Canfield of Hastings, Florida, eleven grandchildren, Michael, Beth, Arianne, Jimi, Chris, Stephanie, Molly, Andrew, Joshua, Mathew, and Julie, and seven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Harold J. Canfield and daughter, Teresa J. Canfield of Palatka, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Hospice in Margaret’s name.
