A funeral service for Leonard S. Sampson, 91, a retired cabinet maker and rancher, of Bunnell, who passed away on January 9, 2020 will be celebrated on January 18, 2020 at the chapel of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral home located at 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, FL 32136. The Family will receive friends from 1:00PM – 3:00PM for the viewing, and the service will begin at 3:00PM. Leonard was born on August 9, 1928 in North Bergen, New Jersey to the late John and Catherine Sampson (Silver). As a young man he served in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1956 he moved to Florida and began his trade in cabinetry. His memberships included the Masonic Beach Lodge #354 in Indiatlantic, Florida and the American Legion. Along with Leonard’s passion for woodwork and cabinetry, he was very passionate about ranching where he enjoyed raising and showing his horses and he raised cattle along with two geese that he loved. He is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Barber, brother, John Sampson, and children, Leonard Sampson JR, Thomas Sampson, and Pamela-Sue Munson (Sampson). Survivors include his sister, Elaine DePiero of Montvale, New Jersey; his children, Robert Sampson of New Jersey; Judith Williams of North Carolina; Jeanette Jones (Sampson) of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
