Funeral Services celebrating the life of Larry Gene Powell 83 of Flagler Beach will be held on Monday, January 27 at 11:00 AM in the Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Daytona Ave Flagler Beach with Rev. Jeanine Clontz officiating. Burial at Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims FL will be private. Mr. Powell a resident of Flagler Beach since December 1999 passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Richland IN on August 28, 1936 a son of the late Howard and Rachel Marcitis Powell. The retired owner of Tri-State Tool Repair in Evansville IN, Mr. Powell was a member of the Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, a former 20 year member of the St. John’s UCC in Boonville IN, locally a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity for many years stateside and overseas. A volunteer for Flagler Volunteer Services, doing many different projects, The Sheltering Tree, Flagler Humane Society and Gamble Rogers State Park. He traveled to Romania to work with orphans with Global Volunteers and with The Bridge of Love. He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He would have been an active member of AA for41 years in February. Surviving are his loving wife, Patti (Nostrand) Powell, three sons, Aaron and his wife Jodi of Newburgh IN, Mark and his wife Sunny of Evansville IN and Michael and his fiance Jeri Utley of Newburgh IN, two daughters, Toni Rose of Boonville IN, and Ricki Havens of Coatesville IN, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, David and his wife Debi of Haubstadt IN, three sisters Sunny Baker of The Villages FL, Amber Stuart of Evansville IN, Karen Clements and her husband Ronald of Fayetteville IN and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Flagler Beach United Methodist Church. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
