He was born January 26, 1983 in Morristown, New Jersey, a son of Robert and Susan Lacy Mehl.
Kyle grew up in Long Valley, New Jersey and is a 2001 graduate of West Morris Central High School. After graduating, he attended Monmouth University where he received his bachelor’s degree in communication. Kyle worked as a counselor in the recovery industry for many years. He enjoyed motorcycles, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, loved the outdoors, cars and was a handyman. Kyle was also a New York Giants fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Kyle battled opioid addiction for 17 years. Addiction consumed him and stole most of his adult life. His journey was long, difficult, and painful. Addiction sadly took his life and devastated his family. May he finally rest in eternal peace.
He leaves his parents Bob and Sue of Palm Coast, his daughter, Ava Grace Mehl, his sister, Robin (Forty) Semadeni of Dallas, Texas, his brother, Brad (Amy) Mehl of Morristown, New Jersey, He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Jack, Sophie, Gabby, Bennett, Camryn and Caleb; Uncles, Wes (Diane) Lacy and Ron (Christine) Lacy and his Aunt, Bobbie Mehl.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Midge Mehl and Merle and Hazel Lacy, and his Uncle, Richard Mehl
A memorial service honoring Kyle’s life will be held privately, allowing family and close friends to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the Mehl family would like donations to be made to the Flagler Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive, Palm Coast FL 32137.
