John Tobin (Jack), 81, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away at his home on August 5, 2024. He was born in Yonkers, New York, to John and Elizabeth (nee Wasilewski) Tobin on December 14, 1942. He proudly served in the United States Marines and spent a long career in financing with Citibank before happily retiring.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary, his three daughters, Tara Cataldo, Jennifer Rockwell and Sarah Tobin. He also leaves behind his sons-in-law, Anthony Cataldo, William Rockwell and Michael Cole; two grandsons, Jacob Rockwell and Aiden Rockwell; two granddaughters, Rowan Cataldo and Bronwyn Cataldo; his sister, Barbara Steadman; brother, Charles Tobin; sisters-in-law, Loretta Tobin and Aprille Tobin; many nieces, nephews and cousins and his dog, Jezebel. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Tobin.
Jack was a devoted family man, loved to play golf, and was a long time New York Giants fan (when they were winning). He felt blessed to have so many women in his life and liked to quote “I just do what I’m told”. The fact that he often “forgot” his hearing aids when being told to do something is a mystery to all these good women.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32164, on Friday, August 9th at 11:00am. A second service will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 10:00am at St. Joachim's Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon, NY, 12508.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html.
