John D. Piper, 77 of Palm Coast, FL passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2022 at Halifax Hospital. He was born on October 27, 1945 in Robinson, Illinois to the late Harley & Evelyn Piper (Hall). John owned & operated two restaurants in Sumner, Illinois. In 1986 circumstances beyond his control found him and his family moving to Florida where he pursued a different business model. John worked and received his Real Estate and CAM license. Subsequently John received his Broker license and established a Brokerage Firm. He worked for many years with condo associations and condo managers. He was the condo manager at Surfside North in Ormond by the Sea for 21 years. In his last years before retiring he managed Island Crowne Condo in Daytona Beach. His memberships included the Building Managers Association and in 1986 Florida Gold Wing Club. Other associations were VFW, Auxiliary 8696, Sons of American Legion in Holly Hill, and Loyal Order of Moose #1263.
John also enjoyed wood working and making furniture, riding his Goldwing and cooking up BBQ. He will always be remembered as “Cooking up the Very Best in BBQ” especially spare ribs. Donations in his memory may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers (T2T). Survivors include his wife of 2 ½ years, Cena Piper; son, Roy Piper; step- daughters, Tonia Johnson and her daughter, Jennifer Johnson; Holly and her husband Brooks Copeland and their daughter, Reagan Copeland; sister, Jenny Pauley, Rosalie Redcorn; brother, Joe Piper and his twin-sister, Jane Bowman and many more loving nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful friends. Joh is very much missed!
