Mr. McInnis was born March 5, 1932 in French Hospital in New York City, a son of John & Ellen Freely McInnis.
He graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School, and studied at Iona College. Mr. McInnis was then drafted out of college, and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Mr. McInnis joined New York Telephone in 1955, and served in the Commercial Department, Sales Department handling the stock exchanges and major brokerage firms. He then transferred to AT&T after the system breakup and served for seven years and retired in 1989 as a System Manager, overseeing the implementation of major PBX systems in the Northeast region.
Mr. McInnis was an avid golfer for 73 years and a member of Heritage Hills Golf Club in New York, and currently Grand Haven Golf Club. He was a long time New York Giants fan, where he was a season ticket holder for 40 years, and had played golf with Lawrence Taylor at his club in New York.
His wife, Dorothy predeceased him in November of 2019. He leaves daughters, Judy (Roger) Engstrom of Lake Tahoe, NV., and Gail of Hanover, NH; grandson, James Montgomery of Medford, MA; granddaughter, Julie Montgomery of Hanover, NH; brother, Eugene (Mary) McInnis of Palm Coast; and his sister-in-law, Suanne Knight.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
