James was a proud graduate of Stamford High School and went on to earn his Master’s degree, becoming a passionate educator. He taught for many years and ultimately served as the Department Chair for History and Social Studies at Stamford High School. His love for history and his dedication to his students made a lasting impact on countless young minds. He retired in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of academic excellence and mentorship.
In retirement, James split his time between Flagler Beach, Florida, and Vermont, where he enjoyed the beauty of both places and enjoyed time spent with friends and family. James was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and deep curiosity about the world, which he passed on to those around him. His love of history, his generosity, and his deep appreciation for nature and travel were just a few of the qualities that defined him.
James is survived by his sister-in-law, Kathleen M. Terlizzo, his goddaughter, Kathleen Yva, and his family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church located at 915 N Central Ave. Flagler Beach on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10:30am with an Entombment to follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens located at 511 Old Kings Road South Flagler Beach.
James will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
