Irene Louise Paccione, 90, of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully September 1, 2022. Irene was born on March 2, 1932 to Frank and Irene Paino in Queens, New York. Irene is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Richard Diego Paccione and by her granddaughter, Jennifer.
Irene loved her family deeply and savored spending time with them, including taking care of her grandchildren and grand-pets. She was a fantastic Italian cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Her famous macaroni and meatballs and holiday cookies were especially in demand! Irene and Richard loved to travel. They built many happy memories taking a variety of family trips in their travel trailer with their three children. Later in life, Irene & Richard enjoyed travels to Las Vegas, Italy, France, and family cruises.
In her leisure time, Irene enjoyed playing poker and bingo with friends, and occasionally visiting the casino. She was a talented artist and her home was adorned with many of her beautiful oil paintings.
Irene will be remembered as a kind, sweet soul with an infectious laugh and a heart of gold to all who knew and loved her.
Irene is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Maureen) Paccione, Linda (Kevin) Flanagan, and Carol Volante, her 5 grandchildren, her 3 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Volusia County Halifax Humane Society.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church on September 23, 2022 at 10 am with a Inurnment at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL at 12:30 pm.
