Henry Roscoe Bracewell Senior, died February 1st, 2022, with extensive family by his side in Bunnell, Florida.
Roscoe was born April 24th, 1942 in Pensacola, Florida. He spent his youth caring for 12 siblings, leaving his academic education at the third-grade level and graduating from the University of Life. Roscoe continued to be an inspiration to those he encountered, exhibiting selfless family values. He was the patriarch of not only the Bracewell family, but to those he gladly took in throughout his life. He had an impressive tendency to promote acceptance and humility, shown through his epitome of the most loving dysfunctional family you will likely ever meet. Roscoe’s accomplishment, first and foremost, is his functionally dysfunctional family. He often stated, “the most important thing about living is family.”
Furthermore, he quickly became an entrepreneur, learning the trade of art plastering, cut stone, imitation brick and thoroughly enjoyed sharing his work ethics with his siblings, in-laws, cousins, children, and grandchildren. He spent his adult life investing time and energy into numerous endeavors including R Plastering and Simulated Stone, ceramics, shoe stores, car dealerships, laundromat, restaurant bars, opening the first convenient store on HWY 92, and building over 16 homes and businesses throughout Volusia and Flagler County. This amazing man accomplished everything he set his mind to. Although contradicting, some say you couldn’t beat a penny out of him while others elaborated on their experiences of Roscoe giving everything within his ability to those around him. The hard truth was that Roscoe was more than willing to give to those who wouldn’t or couldn’t provide for themselves. However, if he knew you were capable of more, he refused to stunt your growth.
Working sunrise to sunset, watching endless re-runs of westerns, designating a personalized alias for loved ones, endlessly sweeping dirt, leaves, and snow while eating ice cream sandwiches are vital hobbies outside of family interactions.
