Gloria E. Smith

Gloria E. Smith, 88, of Palm Coast, FL passed away after a brief illness on October 26, 2022 at Advent Health Palm Coast. She was born on August 18, 1934 in Kingston, Jamaica, to the late Gladston Smith and Vera Stevens. She spent her youth in Jamaica and then migrated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn, New York. Gloria earned her living being a private caregiver.

In her later years she moved from New York to Connecticut to spend some time with her son Harold and his wife. Gloria then moved to Palm Coast to be with her son, Michael and his family. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and spending time in her daughter in law’s garden admiring her beautiful flowers. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph Smith in 2012; son, Ruel Binns in 1999. Survivors include her sons, Harold and his wife Kareen Binns, Michael and his wife Betsy Binns; sisters - Olive of Jamaica, Norma of Georgia, Valarie of New York, and Dorothy of Canada; brother, Aldyn of Canada; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Gloria will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
