Elizabeth Reyes, 75, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 23, 1948, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, to the late Miguel Angel Ithier and Angelica Negron.
Elizabeth's journey of love and family began in 1965 when she met her future husband, Hector Reyes, in New York. Their union was sealed in marriage in 1969, and together they embarked on a beautiful journey of life and love. The couple initially raised their two children in New York before relocating to Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in 1976, where they expanded their family with the addition of two more children.
In the spring of 2021, as health became a consideration, Elizabeth and Hector moved to South Florida to be closer to their cherished family. Later that year, they found a new home in Palm Coast, where they continued to build memories together.
Elizabeth found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for dancing, took pride in keeping her surroundings pristine, and delighted in preparing delicious meals. Her moments of relaxation were often spent watching her favorite telenovelas with a cervesita in hand.
Sadly, Elizabeth's life took a somber turn when her beloved husband of 53 years, Hector Reyes, passed away in January of 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will endure through her children and grandchildren.
Surviving Elizabeth are her children: Hector and his wife Mari Reyes Jr., Angelica and her husband Thomas Metzler, Jessica Reyes and her husband Francisco Figueroa, Francis Reyes and his wife Cynthia Diaz. She is also remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Billy Metzler, Savanna Metzler, Luis Alexis Reyes, Julian Reyes, Justin Reyes, Jeter Reyes, James Reyes, Jinneliz Bassat, Augusto Burgos, Perla Figueroa, and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her immediate family, Elizabeth is survived by six siblings, as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, 2:00PM at The Jacksonville National Cemetery.
