Virginia Arline Clark Harrah Propps, 83, of Oak Hill, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Fayette Nursing and Rehab. Born on September 30, 1932 at Kanawha Falls, she was the daughter of the late Otie and Sarah Lewis Clark. Mrs. Propps had been a cook at the former Blue Bird Café, The Lunchbox, Bridge Tender, and Shad’s. She loved cooking and baking, and really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Harrah; two sons, Walter E. Harrah, Jr. and James Ray Harrah; her six brothers, Thomas Clark, James Clark, John Clark, Robert Clark, George Clark, and Otie Clark; four sisters, Mary Cornell, Edith Clark, Margaret Clark, and Florence Cline; and granddaughter, Crystal Mullins. Left to cherish many wonderful memories include her son, Timothy Allen (Phyllis) Harrah of Oak Hill; four daughters, Myrna Joan (Mike) Pilato of Fayetteville, Susan Darlene (Mark Dravenstott) Harrah Mullins of Oak Hill, Tammie Jean (Joe) Cassell of Beckley; and Donna Lynn (Terry Holbrook) Propps of Oak Hill; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; daughters-in law, Cartha Harrah and Carla Harrah; special caregiver and granddaughter, Courtney Holbrook; former husband, John Propps; and her faithful little dog companion, Mugsey. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, January 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
