

Sandra was born February 25, 1935, in Maynor, WV, to the late Hobert and Alma Patton Maynor. She moved to Mt. Hope in 1941, where she started grade school. Sandra began her married life in Fayetteville, WV where she lived until her passing (other than a short time abroad as a military wife).
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Robert Maynor, Theodosia Eddy, Max Maynor, and former husband and father of her children, Carl Riner.
Sandra is survived by siblings Dean Maynor and Cuba Flory; her children Patty McCallister, Russie (Robert) Bennett, Pam Vandal, Cecil Riner, Sam (Denise) Riner; grandchildren Mitzi (Daniel) Currie, Josh (Julie) Feazell, Wes (Sunny) Burdette, Stacey (Chris) Johns, Jamie (John) Foreman, Jonathan (Kim) Riner, Jahden (Melissa) Riner, Preston (Katelyn) Vandal, Ashlee (Steve) Riner, Noah (Emily) Riner; great-grandchildren Jacob Crouse, Lexi Crouse, Jaxon Riner, Will Foreman, Creighton Johns, Elliana Riner, Macie Riner, Carly Vandal, and Logan Vandal. Sandra will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Sandra was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren. While her children were growing up, she was an active volunteer in their schools as well as in the community and several civic organizations, including Fayetteville Junior Women’s Club. She later had a career in retail spanning many years. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid reader, and loved to travel (her motto was, “Send ticket, will travel!”). One place in particular she loved to spend time was her family’s camp in northern Greenbrier County, WV, which was built by her parents. Sandra also loved watching sports, particularly the WVU Mountaineers and cheered them on for many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held February 24, 2024, 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, 6952 Gatewood Road, Fayetteville, WV. Those wishing to honor Sandra’s memory are encouraged to make a donation to Bowers Hospice House (454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley WV 25801) or Pleasant View Church of the Brethren (PO Box 6, Fayetteville WV 25840) in lieu of flowers.
