He was born in Hico, West Virginia to his parents, Paul and Zela Grimmett.
He loved life. Russell especially loved being a crane operator. He is loved and is going to be missed by a great number of people.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Marylou Malay and Karen Ramsey.
He is survived by his daughter, Carla Yeary and her spouse Robert Yeary; son Michael Grimmett; two granddaughters, Kayla & Samantha Hepler; sisters, Iduna Ratliff & Sharon Klos; nieces, Sheila Lesher, Crissy Ratliff, and Rose Corley; and nephews, Greg Ramsey, Donnie Ramsey, and Kenny Sorrell.
Funeral Service for Russell will be held at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home on Friday, August 23, 2024 beginning at 1 pm. Family will begin receiving visitors starting at 12 pm. Burial will follow the service in Huse Memorial Park.
