He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Joan Hess Wykle; mother: Beaulah Keeney; stepfather: Fred Keeney; Father Wannie Wykle; brother: Roger Keeney; and granddaughter: Devin Wykle.
He is survived by two daughters: Tina Wykle of Oak Hill and Brinda Wykle of Oak Hill; two great-grandsons: Bryton Wykle and Malaki Wykle; two sisters: Arbutus Hall and husband, William of Charleston, and Deloris Martin and husband, Tim Martin of Dothan; two brothers: Fred Keeney and wife, Patricia Keeney of Oak Hill, and Virgil “Jake” Keeney and wife, Angie Keeney of Layland.
James Wykle, known to most as Jim, worked for Crown Corporation for 30+ years until he retired. His hobbies included listening to the radio, watching wrestling, drinking coffee and playing bingo at the American Legion where he also played Santa at Christmas. He was a strong, but loving man who was known by many, but will be forgotten by few.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Bill McClung officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening, February 15, 2023 at the funeral home.
