Helen Lee Johnson

Born on May 4, 1939, in Gatewood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Helen Reveal Swanigan. She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School in 1957 and was of the Brethren faith. She enjoyed painting and was a ceramics shop owner in the Fayette County local area.

Left to cherish her memory are children Richard L. “Joey” (Stephanie) Johnson of Hurricane, WV, Jonathan M. “Mike” Johnson of Lillington, NC, and Robin J. Ledford of Fayetteville, WV; three grandchildren, Nick Ledford of Okemos, MI, Eric (Jodi) Johnson of Hurricane, WV, and Jamie (Alicia) Johnson of Fort Mill, SC; seven great grandchildren and her dog, Bella.

She was preceded in death by husband Charles D. Johnson and half-brother Paul Henley.

The family will receive friends at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home in Fayetteville, WV at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will follow from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jackie Pittman officiating.
