Mr. Halley H Hamrick

Halley Harvey Hamrick, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Teays Valley Center, Hurricane. Born on July 26, 1939 at Clay, WV, he was the son of the late Herman F. and Ida P. Gibson Hamrick. Mr. Hamrick was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved music, playing the guitar, singing in churches and woodworking. He was a retired coal miner and steel worker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Bates Hamrick, and sister, Garnet Bell Hamrick. Left to cherish his memory include his daughter: Marcella Redden of Fayetteville, WV; brothers and sisters: Marie A. Zars of Ashtabula, Ohio, Nancy Louise Hubbard of St. Albans, WV, Phillip Terry Hamrick of Fayetteville, AR, Carol Joann Woods of Summersville, WV, and Henry Floyd Hamrick of St. Albans, WV; several stepchildren; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, October 24, 2016 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Jeff Neff officiating. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow services. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at the funeral home on Monday.
