

Mr. Nguonly, an only child, was born on June 5, 1926 to Luy Nguonly and Chiv Cheav Lay in the village of Chi He, Kampong Cham, Cambodia. He married his wife Khim Lim in 1948 and had 1 daughter and 9 sons together.
Mr. Nguonly was a devout Buddhist and practiced his faith everyday. He was the patriarch of his family. He and his wife won their small town lottery, and he began building his empire with several business ventures, including boat transportation along the Mekong River, rice mills, and jewelry stores. Prior to political unrest, he had the foresight to help seven of his sons escape the country and survived with the rest of his family through the Killing Fields of Cambodia. He built his family legacy from the ground up in the Americas since 1980.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mrs. Khim Lim and his grandson Christopher Kenneth Lim. Mr. Nguonly is survived by his children, Kevin and Sue Nguonly, Hay and Sotheavy Nguonly, Kenneth and Susan Lim, Lim Suor Nguonly and Sophea Darya Lim, Anthony Nguonly and Reno Chheng, Lim Paul and Joanne Nguonly, Sitha and Samnang Yuk, Lee and Lorraine Nguonly, Lindsey and Mona Nguonly, and Sonny and Ngoc Nguonly; 23 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 9:30 in the morning where he will be laid to rest next to his wife. His legacy lives on.
