Susan Fraser

Susan A. Fraser, age 68, of Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, January31, 2017. She was born to the late Thomas and Theresa Fraser and is survived by her brother Thomas E. Fraser, II. She graduated from Virginia Tech and later received two Master’s Degrees. Susan was a long time resident of Arlington. She served as the Home Economics teacher at Yorktown High School for 40 years. Susan was known for her passion for teaching students how to live smart. She was the first teacher in her district to utilize Smart Living segments as a teaching tool to educate her students. Susan’s passion for teaching led her to receiving Virginia Teacher of the Year award in 1985. Susan enjoyed visiting her family farm near Petersburg, VA when she could. She also enjoyed shopping for fabric to make quilts. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Christ Crossman United Methodist Church, 384 N. Washington St. Falls Church from 11am-1pm with a funeral service to begin at 1pm. The interment will follow at National Memorial Park.
