On Thursday, August 30, 2012, Shirley died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Formerly of Falls Church, VA, Shirley was born September 4, 1933 in Oklahoma City, OK. She leaves behind to celebrate her life, her beloved husband of 56 years, Ernest Bacon, son Robert Bacon, his wife, Lisa; daughter, Barbara and cherished grandchildren, Caitlin Mewborn, Jessica Mewborn, George Bacon, and Emily Bacon and sister-in-law, Vera Sherman and her husband, John.
Viewing and service will be on September 8, 2012 at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee High Way Falls Church, VA, beginning at 12:30 PM. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM. Reception immediately following at her son, Robert Bacon's home.
