Her husband Frank Beatty and her two children Gary Beatty and Bonnie Beatty Dickerson preceded Ruth in death. Her sister Marguerite Holtzclaw, her brother Dwight Alley, her father James Alley and her mother Lillian Alley also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her granddaughter Amy Lee Dickerson Barrett and her husband John, two great-granddaughters Alexis Caroline Reed and Aubriana Corinne Barrett, an honorary granddaughter Corinne Lee Bell, her husband Paul and their son Tyler, as well as her son-in-law Robert William Dickerson. Ruth also leaves behind MANY loving nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born on October 29, 1924 in Washington, D.C. She married Frank E. Beatty on December 17, 1942. Ruth and Frank had two children and raised them in Rose Hill beginning in 1954. She was a Rose Hill Beauty in every sense of the word. They were also faithful members of Franconia Baptist Church since 1954. She adored her church family and her Rose Hill friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Franconia Baptist Church, 5912 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA 22310 where funeral services will be held immediately following with Pastor Nicholas Roark officiating. Ruth’s burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Franconia Baptist Church in Ruth’s memory.
