Rose Fang was nearly 100! She was generous and kind and cooked as often as she could for everybody right up until she just couldn't. She just wanted everybody to be happy. She grew up in rural China and saw terrible things in World War II and survived the Chinese Civil War, but you would never know any of that. Rose met her husband during the war (her brother was Tom’s commanding officer), and he proposed to her after the war when he was stationed in D.C. When she came to the U.S. in 1950, the only English word she knew was “America”. Rose and Tom worked hard all their lives so they could pass their dreams onto their children and grandchildren. Rose was one of the most cheerful people you would ever meet, even after she really didn't want to be in this world anymore. Now she's finally back with her beloved Tom, whom she missed profoundly. May she rest in peace.
