Ronald Lee King

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Ronald (Ron) Lee King passed away in Kingwood, Texas. Ron was a loving husband and father of three sons. His sons and grandchildren were by his side when he drifted off to be with the lord. He was born to Mary and Harry King on May 20, 1944 in Harrisonburg, VA. He was the youngest of three, his sister Betty and brother Robert.
Ron attended school in Harrisonburg, VA before attending Strayer University in Washington, D.C., where he met his wife, Mary Ann (Worman) King. They were married in Baltimore, MD on June 6, 1964. He was a devoted husband, father, and had a lifelong career in the insulation industry.
During his storied 50 + year career in the commercial and industrial insulation segment of the construction industry Ron owned a small contracting business, served as Vice President and General Manager of a large national specialty contractor, President of a national accessory manufacturer and retired as Chairman, President, and CEO of one the United States largest insulation and specialty distributors. He is past president of the National insulation Association, the Southwest Insulation Contractors Association, the World Insulation and Acoustic Congress Organization and Past Chairman of the National Institute of Building Sciences’ (NIBS). He has been honored with the “President’s Award” on three different occasions from two insulation associations. In his most recent accomplishment, the National Insulation Association honored him by renaming the “Presidents Award”, to the “Ronald King Distinguished Service Award”.
Ron is survived by his sons, Daniel, David and Richard all of the Kingwood, TX area, as well as seven grandchildren. Cody King, Christine King, Molly (King) Cooper, Mitchell King, Nathan Smith, Savanah Nicodemus and Ryder King.
“Dad was a strong and passionate man; especially when it came to his family. He always celebrated the big and small things in our lives and we could always count on him for good advice, help or a good laugh. He made our lives more secure knowing he always had our back no matter what”.
A public visitation for his friends and colleagues will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Hwy 59 North, Kingwood , TX. 77339. 281-358-9005
A private family memorial and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at National Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042. 703-560-4400.
