Robert L.A. Mace

Robert “Bob” Mace, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Inova Fairfax Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Anne; his children, Daniel, Ryan and Timothy (Laura); his step-mother, Dorothy (Mae) Mace; and two step-brothers, Daniel and Michael Gordon. He is predeceased by his brother, Jack.

Bob worked for Arlington County for 30 years. At the time of Bob’s death, he was president of the Arlington County Retired Employees Association (ACREA). Before moving to Lake Barcroft in 1999, he had served several years as president of the Lee-Boulevard Heights Civic Association. Bob was an active member in the BSA Troop 624 and proud father of two Eagle Scouts. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and bluegrass music but was happiest camping with his family in the beautiful Shenandoah National Park.

Please join us to celebrate Bob’s life with a Memorial service on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 3:00pm. The celebration will be at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4444 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, VA.

A reception follows at the same location. Ample parking is available and the site is handicapped-accessible. Plan to arrive a few minutes early if you would like to hear some of the Bach pieces Bob loved. All are welcome!
