Words cannot express our sadness when we heard of your wife, Mitali’s demise, at such a young age. I did not know her well, but had heard her sing at various functions, and what a beautiful voice she had. I remember meeting you all at Dulles airport few years ago. I know Mitali since 1991 from our university days. The more I got to know about her, I learned something new about her. She was one of the finest person I have known. She was kind and generous. She did her best to keep any relationship alive. In fact it was her effort that our friendship lasted for such a long time. I have seen her putting effort in reviving old friendships. She had a unique way to make people feel special, and she did it genuinely.  I am not able to fathom the fact that she is no more. Mitali you will be missed in a big way. Wherever you are I am sure you will make that place beautiful.

I supervised Mitali the past three years and we all very much enjoyed working with her because she was always positive and not afraid of taking on new challenges.  Mitali will be truly missed. It was so shocking to get the news of your severe illness and then all on a sudden by the blink of an eye you are gone. It is so difficult to accept that you are no more among us.   God definitely had different plans for you.   Rest in peace, Mitali.

Knew Mitali since our days in Loreto House. Got connected instantly  not only becoz our surnames matched (Saha), but mostly  due to our love for music and books &  also our attitude towards life.  It was just in  Aug 2021 when we last spoke and she agreed to my request to  plan her next visit to India via Dubai so that we can meet and spend sometime together here . Least did we know that it was not to happen .
Mitali had a beautiful and fulfilling life and was so much loved even by The Supreme Lord who was kind enough and just did not allow her to suffer much. I will always  remember her lovingly. May her family realise that she is not gone ...she is amongst them  but in different forms......in the air that  they breathe, in the music that they listen , in the smiles that they spread, in all the beautiful thoughts that they think and the wonderful deeds that they perform .
In the words of Tagore.....

You are gone too soon, too suddenly.  I still have fresh memories when you married Choto Mamu and joined our family. You were the most vivacious person in our entire extended family with a host of talents. You never missed to greet us on a birthday or an anniversary through each generation. I am sure every person who knew you, will miss you dearly. My heart goes out to Choto Mamu, Mimo and Mikai. Rest in Peace Mamima. Your void and our loss will never be filled.

Dear Mitali,
You left us with lots of sweet memories. We are terribly missing you and saying goodbye is very tough. Your dynamic and innovative initiatives always inspired us. We will never forget you, especially my daughter Hanshika will always carry your name as it was given by you. You will always remain in my mind, forever in my heart. May your soul rest in peace.

What can be more tragic in my life spanning 77 years than writing this condolence! Mithu, my cousin at 54 years, so much close to my heart, did not see her dream in a life completing a full circle. I have seen her grown up from infancy to soar in this vast world like a true cosmopolitan possessing versatile genius, but never losing contacts with relations in India. God wanted His supreme creations to die since He created them mortal. So she had submitted to the will of the Highest and would have peace and happiness in His abode. She will live among us in deeds and not in years and appear in our mind's eye. I express my deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. 

Mitali di was a beautiful, warm, kind and graceful lady,  always with a smile on her face.  Have so many fond memories of her when we lived in Maryland.  She was so talented and sang so beautifully. This sad news came as a big shock to us.  My heart goes out to Paltan da, Mimo and Mikai. May God give them strength to bear this loss and May Mitali di Rest In Peace. She will always remain in our hearts.

This news is very heart breaking for me, I knew you when you were just sixteen when you came to sing for me for a show in Doordarshan, later we got in touch, and you always made an effort to come see us whenever you came to India , your precious gift still decorates our wall and will always remind us of you, this is extremely painful good bye to bid, Im sure you are in a much better place and may you rest in peace, God be with you... 🙏

We were very lucky to have found Mitali as a music teacher for our daughter Priya many years ago. Mitali had a wonderful way to introduce very young children to Hindustani Classical music. She made learning fun and worked hard to find songs that children loved to learn and enjoy singing.

In addition to being a great teacher, Mitali was a wonderfully skilled musician, a lovely vocalist, and a gracious host. She nurtured great appreciation of Indian classical music to our daughter and many other students. Dear Paul, Mimo and Mikai, we are extremely saddened to hear about your loss. Mitali was a beautiful lady and a delightful, vibrant person!! She will be dearly missed by many! May God be with her and all of you in such difficult time!

Dear Mitali,
 Last time we met was in May 2014 when I visited you at Germantown.   We were in touch after 2014 but lost touch since my mom passed away on October 31st 2018.  My life changed dramatically in 2018. I lost my dad in 2015 but with the loss of mom, I felt all alone in the world since I have no siblings. You called me several times and I told you that I will call you back when I am ready. I regret that I did not  call you back .  May  the Almighty give strength to Paltan and your two sons to cope with their grief and loss.   Your physical body has left us but your memories  and songs will linger on...



A vibrant straight talking  and lovable friend from my Rotaract days. Always ready to reach out. Making efforts to Stay in touch. Another blow for our friends group. Stay as alive as you always have been. Stay with us till we meet. 

Many, many, many words may be needed to express how we were connected. She is not my best friend, she is my sister. Every movie we watched during our school days, college days, were together; every bus, minibus we traveled together, every local train to our rendezvous, were together, every jokes I remember with her million-dollar smile, every advise she gave me and vice-versa, in every step, since our Grade 4, when she mentioned to me as "a fire of friendship, too hot to touch",  till we met after years in 2016, when I drove down from Toronto to  USA, she is entwined in my memory. Every song she sang, be it on a boat on the serene Ajoy river in Katoa, just the 2 of us and the boatman, or in the pitch dark loadshedding, sitting huddled on her stairs outside her house, or in college functions... she is in my memory. I still have her recorded songs in a cassette. Phuchka is, sorry, was the closest and the first common ground we always met after any battles we had. Thanks for reading my thoughts.

Mitali always was a wonderful friend, whatever she did was always from her passion. She was simple and had a very good sense of humour. She liked music - sang songs to us whenever requested. Her voice was always mesmerizing. We sat on the college floor during tiffin time. We would request her to sing and she sang for us. The first song i hard her singing was ' dil tarap tarap kar ke' and i think no one else can do sing it better than her.She had great passion for Bengali literature- Sunil Gangopadhyay was her favourite. She would discuss the novels over phone. Years passed, she passed out from college, shifted her base from Kolkata to USA, yet she was the same college girl i met in 1984.  She was humble, modest, sweet , genuine, and more than anything valued friendship. My deepest condolences to her husband and sons. May the Almighty give them strength to cope with this ireparable loss. Adieu Mitali. Be happy and be in peace wherever you are! You will be in my heart forever !

The memories of our first visit to your place, the warmth and care that you showed us is still fresh and irreplaceable.

Mithu, I remember the year 2016 when I and your choto mama visited your house in America for the first time. You gave us the warmest welcome, you were an amazing host and made our trip one of the most memorable ones. Even in your busy schedule you found time for us and toured the entire Washington D.C along with us. I have never seen a person with such intelligence, talent, and humour. You were like my elder daughter. When i came to katwa for the first time after my marriage you were a little kid of 5 years old and from then on i have seen you grow up into an amazing person who has accomplished so much in her life.  Mithu wherever you are I pray to the Almighty that you are happy and at your best. May God give enough strength to mimo mikai and polton. Mithu you will always be remembered. Rest in peace my sweet child.

 Sometimes there are no words in the dictionary to say I'm sorry or my condolences.  because there is a great loss and an emptiness that will exist for her husband, children, family and friends, wherever she is, she will always be aware of her loved ones, in this world we come to learn the good and the bad, each one chooses their path, Mitaly chose the right path, giving her friendship, respect and affection to her family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the people who knew her, she never says goodbye, if not a see you soon, because on the road of life we ​​arrive all of us to see each other some day, the charisma, the joy that Mitaly projected will always be in the hearts of those who knew her, she is simply in a different world, at the end of the rainbow cleaning the way and filling with joy and flowers wherever she is, my dear friend, see you soon. The very moment the ominous news reached me my heart had skipped a beat .
Those who know her personally will undoubtedly admit that she was herself the very soul of kindness not to mention affectionate and warm hearted in her ways .
Her endeavouring nature has made her very successful in every aspect of life . An accomplished academic , a well respected and loved colleague , a caring mother , a very loving wife and many other accomplishments that may be I am still unaware of.
We all in some manner indebted to her and it is our greatest misfortune that the debt will never be amply repaid .
I don't dare to console the family members in this moment of despair because it is to my belief that the absence of someone so dear to them cannot be compensated by mere few words, as death is an inexorable truth ; but I can assure them she is now in a far better place and to my best belief her soul is in peace bearing all of our memories within.

Mitali was an accomplished person with empathy and friendly personality. We will all miss her presence in our lives.

Mitali, you were more than a friend, more than a sister...very difficult to describe your spirit, jovial and bubbling with energy. Fun loving, humorous and always ready to help for anything and everything. 

Do always remember those sweet memories ❤,  be it either at Kolkata or at Maryland. Remember those beautiful days when visited your place along with Subhajit (Babu) and Agneev (Bonty). Warmth and care you and Polton, showered on us, is still so fresh in our mind. 

You had such a beautiful voice, which mesmerized us. Your encouragement to Bonty while playing piano, we always cherish.

You are so close to our heart that we do cherish them and never we have a feeling of you moving away from all of us. 

Remembering you gives a strange feeling where Goodbye is not the word to express, but praying for  blessings in your next life is the best way to feel your presence.

You waited eagerly for my visit again this year but could not meet.

May you be happy always as you were and you deserved all happiness with your beautiful family Polton, Mikai and Mimo...God designed differently for you being a beautiful soul, and took you to His abode.

It is very difficult to pen down but today pray to the Almighty to give enough strength to Polton, Mikai and Mimo to be happy with your sweet and caring memories.

The moment Mitali entered a room her radiant witty personality and her beautiful smile illuminated the room instantly. Never a dull moment when she was around. Mitali was the brightest student in my MBA class at the Univ of Maryland Global Campus. 
She was the most amazing singer at my Rockville home to celebrate my son’s HS graduation.  Mitali offered immense love and talent to our world. 
Snehanshu (Paltan) and Mitali became dear friends. 
We will miss her, but her fond memories will always live in our hearts.
