Mary Frances Galarneau

Mary was born on November 28, 1923 in Whitehall, New York. She graduated from Whitehall High School in 1941 and was married on June 6, 1942 to her high schoold sweetheart, Kenneth "Skippy" R. Galarneau (deceased). Mary enjoyed all aspects of life especially dancing and partying with her sisters known affectionately by her children, nieces and nephews as "The Barker Girls".

She is survived by her nine children, Kathleen Galarneau (Ralph Chanley); Martha Galarneau (Jim Cureton); Billy Galarneau (Boni); Joel Galarneau (Susie-deceased); Theresa Irwin; Paul Galarneau (Susie Matthews); Robert Galarneau; Jeanine Ferezan (Terry); and Timmy Galarneau (Sandy). She is also survived by two sisters, Jean Serritella and Natalie Greene, and a special friend Rita Milham; and preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Taft and Teresa Rose Loos, and her parents, William and Marion (Mary Frances Gramann) Barker. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will miss Mary greatly and will cherish their many memories of her. Friends will be received at Murphy's Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA on Tuesday, April 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p. m. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, at Saint James Catholic Church, 905 park Avenue, Falls Church, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations on Mary's behalf would be appreciated to the Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042.
