

January 30, 2015, Marshall passed away at his home in Sterling, Va. He was 73 years old. Born on November 19, 1941 in Superior, Wisconsin, he was the son of Marshall (Sr.) and Ethern (VanArman) Sayen, and brother to 3 siblings: Judy Barnard, Roger and James. He grew up in Superior, Wisconsin and graduated from High School in 1961.
He enjoyed working on vehicles of all shapes and sizes - a passion discovered during his time in the U.S. Air Force. After leaving military service he operated his own auto mechanic shop and continued to work as a Master Mechanic for the remainder of his professional career. One of Marshall’s favorite hobbies was building model rockets and airplanes with his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Sr. and Ethern, as well as a son, Michael Arthur Sayen. Marshall is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Korbini) Sayen; his children Marshall C. Sayen III, David, Theresa (Patrick), James Sr., and Joseph, and 15 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Parastas Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home (www.murphyfuneralhomes.com), 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, 3410 Woodburn Rd., Annandale, VA 22003 followed by Interment at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032.
