Marsha Row Nicholson, of Springfield, VA, beloved mother, grandmother, sibling, daughter, aunt, and spouse, was born April 22, 1942 in Washington, DC to Klon Ovington Row and Beatrice Helen Row. She was the second of four children. She is survived by Lori Nicholson, daughter, married to Kurt Kuhlmann, and their three children—Anna, Erica, and Grace; Julie Nicholson Burke, daughter, married to Greg Burke, and their three children—Jeremy, Mallory, and Tyler; and Stephen K. Nicholson, son, married to Melissa Nicholson, and their two children—Colby and Kendall. She is also survived by: two sisters, Pamela B. Row and Dorothy I. Row; sister-in-law Nancy T. Row; niece Katie Row Richardson, married to Brian Richardson; and nephew Tommy Row. She is pre-deceased by her husband, James B. Nicholson (“Jimmy”); daughter, Karen Marie Nicholson; and brother, Stephen E. Row.
In 1964, Marsha became one of the first women to graduate from American University with a Business Administration degree. She spent most of her career working in the real estate business—as a settlement processor, in a title and escrow company, and finally as an award-winning realtor with Long & Foster. When she wasn’t working, she was busy with her beloved children and grandchildren, or with close lifelong friends. Marsha loved the beach, shopping, people-watching, and above all, her family. She had an amazing ability to make everyone feel welcome. We will miss her quick smile and her deep devotion to those whom she loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements under the direction of National Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA.
