Marguerite was born, raised, and educated in Manassas, VA. She was employed by and retired from Fairfax County Public Schools.
On June 28, 1959, she married John Bailey, Sr. and was a devoted wife for 56 years. From that union, five children were born. She loved her family and supported them in all aspects of their lives.
Marguerite loved the Lord. She attended and was baptized at the Community Church of God in Dunn Loring, VA. She served as an usher, a member of the church choir, and went on several mission trips to Haiti.
Marguerite loved life and was always active. She loved to spend time with her family and close friends, which made Thanksgiving and Christmas her favorite holidays. Her favorite hobbies were: riding motorcycles, working in her yard, yard sales/auctions, and road trips.
She leaves to honor her memory, her husband, John Bailey, Sr.; one brother: Herbert Murphy (Joyce); five children: Karen Bailey-Jackson (Phillip), Wanda Bailey-Dieudonne (Nathan), Donna “Gussie” Tutt (Anthony), Jack Bailey (Harylon), and Marlene “Cookie” Time (Odcene); one step-daughter, Kathy Seymour (Daniel); twelve grandchildren: Brandon Friloux, Ashleigh Friloux, Shari’ Sanders, Krystina Carter, Jasmine Henderson, Cameron Hughes, Jonathan Bailey, DaJon Bailey, Karah Harris, John Bailey III, Ryan Dieudonne, and Tristan Time; two great grandchildren: Lena Marshall and Lea Henderson; three dear friends that were like a daughters, Karol Harris, Cynthia Fitts, and Lori Kuna; and a dear friend that was like a granddaughter, Sherlie Cean; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Marguerite was preceded in death by her late siblings: Estelle Hogan, Louise Skinner, Agnes Carter, Walter Murphy, Mike Murphy, and Bill Murphy.
