Margaret Fisk Murray "Peggy" passed away peacefully in her home on Dec. 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in New London, CT, on January 17, 1932. She is the daughter of the late Howard and Beatrice Fisk, of New London. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, RADM. James D. Murray, USN (RET), her daughter, Carole M. Harris, and husband Dr. Richard B. Harris; her son, James D. Murray, Jr., and wife Susan A. Murray; her daughter, Nancy M. DiBenedetto, and husband Paul F. DiBenedetto, III and her two grandchildren, Paul F. DiBenedetto, IV and Andrew J. DiBenedetto.
Peggy adored her husband and loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. The legacy of Peggy's kind spirit and zest for life will live on through them. Peggy met every challenge in her life with optimism and surrounded herself with thoughtful friends whom she cared about deeply. Peggy was a passionate and avid quilter, and a member of Quilters Unlimited, McLean Chapter.
Friends and family will be received at Murphy's Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, Virginia 22046, on Friday, December 27, from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society with a designation for Breast Cancer Research, in the name of Margaret "Peggy" Murray, 124 Park Street SE #100, Vienna, Virginia 22180-0699.
