Mandy D Tomlinson

Mandy D. (Bennett) Tomlinson passed away June 12 at the age of 92. She was born to Bertie and Albert Bennett in Saratoga (Wilson County) North Carolina. She was the 5th of 11 children. She came to Washington D.C. in 1942 where she met her husband of 54 years, Edward L. Tomlinson, Sr. The family moved to Arlington, VA in 1954. She was employed by the federal government for 34 years, training to become a computer programmer in the early days of the computer age, eventually becoming a systems analyst. She was a member of Westover Baptist Church in Arlington.

She is survived by her son Edward L., Jr. two grandsons, Keith and Kevin Tomlinson, one sister and two brothers who live in North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her son Timothy A. Tomlinson and daughter-in-law Patricia Tolson Tomlinson.

Funeral services begin Saturday, June 21 at Westover Baptist Church, 1125 Patrick Henry Drive, Arlington VA, with visitation at 10:00 a.m., and Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at National Memorial Park Cemetery, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA.
