Please accept my deepest condolences, Dr. Luu was the best. She has seen me for many years. She always listened and encouraged healthy behavior. Never judged on patient opinion. Sadly, I just learned about Le Le’s passing.  Le Le and I were both Chemistry majors at BU and quickly became friends.  She was insanely smart and was beautiful inside and out.  Le Le was a gentle, loving, kind, funny, and loyal friend.  I am very grateful to have met and spent time with her.  There are so many fond memories I have of Lele.  She will be missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to cross path with her.  I take comfort knowing that she is in Heaven with Our Almighty Lord. I just learned  of Dr. Luu's passing today.  She was my primary physician and oh how I've missed her these past few years.  Every visit to RMG I inquired about her return, hoping and praying she would get well enough to return.   Throughout the year's I'd bounced around seeing several doctors at RMG, but finally settled on Dr. Luu as my physician because I felt she genuinely cared about me and my health.  For quite a few years I trusted her with my care, she was a phenomenal doctor and person.  

Although I am saddened to know that she is no longer with us, I'm relieved to know she is no longer suffering and in a much better place.  She was and will continue to be missed.

Dr. Le Le Luu was my Primary Care Physician at RIMG for many years. She never let on that she had been diagnosed with cancer, or that she had taken ill until she actually needed to take medical leave, and at that point I'd hoped that it was a family member or an impending motherhood situation.

Bless you, Le Le Luu. Your care helped me to become not only a healthier person, but a more compassionate one as well.

Dr. Luu was my primary care physician when I was diagnosed with cancer. Although I had an amazing oncologist, Dr. Luu saw me for “regular” visits. She was always so careful to coordinate with my oncology team and address my health concerns with professional yet compassionate care.  
I am still on my cancer journey and I miss her care so much.  I just had to share my condolences so you would know so many of us will miss her. I will pray for her friends and family. I hope knowing how special she was to so many will help ease your pain.

Dr Luu was a great doctor.  She was attentive, caring, and truly interested in doing what she could to keep me healthy and happy.  I will miss her. 


Dr. Lu was not only my primary physician at RIMG since the early 2000s but also my elderly mother’s when she moved to the area. We treasure and deeply appreciate the kind, professional, and caring care she took on each of our consultations. We had continued to hope that she was going to return…and were deeply sadden when we learned of her passing. As my mother said, she was too young and valuable to society! 
Our deepest condolences to her family and the RIMG colleagues. May her legacy and exemplary health care best practices be an inspiration to all those who had the privilege of knowing her! 


I met Le Le as a freshman in high school at TJHSS&T in Alexandria; we were lab partners in Biotechnology and sat next to each other in our History/English seminar.  I have so many memories of Le Le. Together, we cloned African Violets in the lab; shared lunches; and ate Skittles during class (Le Le loved sweets and shared a story with me about tasting chocolate for the first time on her way from Vietnam to the U.S. ) We were together during our high school's all night lock-in as graduating seniors.  She also shared a memorable Easter at my home and was a guest at my wedding in 1995.   We reunited years later through social media; though were were 1500 miles apart we shared hundreds upon hundreds of texts over a 12 year period. I am so grateful I was able to visit her in person in April of 2022--we shared an Easter lunch, took a walk through her neighborhood, looked at her wedding photos, and laughed at our old high school yearbooks.  It will always be a most precious memory for me.  I am honored to have been her friend. 

LeLe was a special friend of mine.  We met in OCA anniversary in 2008, and found out we shared a lot in common:  dialects, parents' hometown, eldest sister, neighborhood, friends. She is always a caring and sweet friend who you could count on.  Our friendship continued throughout these years: friends' gathering, dining adventures, festivals. Dear Lele, your smiles and friendship will always be in our hearts. 

As her patient for many years, I always appreciated Dr. Luu’s kindness, attentiveness, expert advice, and gentle smile. She exemplified the best qualities of a physician. My sincerest sympathies to her family. May her memory be a blessing.

The first time I met Lele was at a Halloween party in Bethesda, MD 20 years ago.  Lele was in an elaborate Chinese opera costume which looked very impressive.  My costume was a boring evening gown I found in my closet.  Linda was a bag of jellybeans that required some maintenance during the party.  I remember refilling Linda’s bag with small colorful balloons (aka jellybeans). We all had a good laugh since Linda’s jellybeans kept popping.  Our friendship has continued throughout the years.  We shared many buffets, stories and laughters. I will sorely miss our dear friend.  I’m certain though that she will always be in our hearts.  We love you, Lele!

Le Le was a great friend to me and Fred. She was always so caring and kind. She reminded me that we met at a friend’s house for karaoke and we started hiking, singing and celebrating birthday together for years. She will always be in our hearts.

Dr. Luu was my primary care physician at RIMG.   She added me to her already full panel when I moved to Rockville area and needed to establish care.  I am forever grateful for her help.  She had great bedside manner and provided thorough exam.  Her physical exam technique was superb.  I  am fortunate to have met her.  May she RIP.

Dr. Luu was a wonderful doctor.  Aside from being an amazing doctor she was kind, compassionate, and sincere.  These were a blessing to  me at many points of being her patient. My deepest condolences to Dr. Luu’s family.  When I was looking for a doctor, the later Dr. Howard Levine told me about Dr. Luu. He said she was smart, compassionate, and wise. Oh, was she ever. I always felt as if I had a secret weapon because I was her patient. Once I was at RIMG’s walk-in clinic with a nasty cough. Dr Luu spotted me in a room and immediately took over my care. She was the most thorough and kind doctor I have ever known.  What a loss to all of us who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.

Le Le learned to ski after she reached out to me in 2015. She was so excited and happy.  I have known her since 4th grade. She cried when she got a C in Physical Educational class. She didn't like any kind of sports so when she asked me to teach to ski I couldn't refused.  🥰

LeLe will forever be in our hearts.  We met in high school but back then I didn’t know her well, I’m so glad our paths crossed again 16 years ago, and this time I got to call you my friend.  Precious memories of time spent with you, dining, singing karaoke and hanging out.  Your gentle demeanor and generosity has touched so many lives, you will be greatly missed.

So many of the sentiments I could add have already been expressed by so many people. That speaks volumes as to how loved she was as a doctor and how genuine a person she was.  The community has suffered a big loss. She was with me through many difficult times and was always so supportive. RIP Dr. Lu. You are sorely missed.

She was always caring and considerate, positive and intelligent……… Her beautiful smile always brought sunshine to this world, and forever will. Le Le was a great friend. We met in 2011 at an event and started to attend various cultural events together and became good friends since. From the French embassy, theaters, concerts, Karaoke, to numerous dining adventures, I’m so blessed to get to share so many years of fun times together with her.
Her smiles, her kindness and her friendship will always be cherished and remembered in our hearts.

I was one of Dr Luu's first  patients after my previous doctor retired.
She possessed all the qualities that make a doctor great. I eventually had my mother and husband join me at her practice because of the trust I had in her. When I heard she was ill I was in denial and always hoped for a miracle. I was so saddened to hear that she died. I know she was my doctor but felt the loss one feels with a close friend or family. My heart goes out to all of them. 

Dr. Luu was a wonderful doctor.  She saw me several times during recent years and immediately diagnosed/treated me each time.  She was the family physician for two of my close friends and they too are saddened.  My condolences to Dr. Luu's family.

My family and I are so sad to hear of Dr. Luu’s passing.  We respected and trusted her.  She was one of few doctors that we have encountered that actually took the time to listen to her patients at their time of need.  She was kind, attentive, and compassionate. I was a patient with Dr Luu for several years and always appreciated her professionalism and no nonsense manner. When my learning disabled sister came to be under my care, I decided to take her to Dr Luu not certain how she would be with my extremely sensitive sister.  My sister is always extremely nervous with medical staff and can be emotional.  Dr Luu was always amazing with Jenny showing her the care and concern she needed while showing ultimate respect, never disregarding a question or comment.    Dr Luu is missed.

Loren and I were sad to lose Dr. Frauke Westphal as our doctor after many years, but Dr. Westphal recommended Dr Luu to us and we soon understood why.  Dr. Luu was professional, knowledgeable, and personable. She often remembered important details from one visit to the next. We always considered that she cared about us as both patients and individuals

We were saddened by her illness and sent cards and notes periodically wishing her better health. 
 
We wish the family peace and comfort during this difficult time. We will remember her sitting with her laptop and a smile on her face.

Great Memory-RIMG Christmas party included Karaoke, so I decided to sing and Dr Luu wanted to sing with me. I decided to sing one of my favorite Beatle songs, All my loving. As the song went on I noticed Dr Luu  wasn’t singing the correct words, so I did what I had to -let her go🙀😜.  No one could believe I kicked Dr Luu out of the band, I said all is fair in Love and Karaoke. It was as a great time and we got a great laugh from it. RIP Dr Luu💕

Dr. Luu was my doctor for many years.  Her caring and calm style helped me in many ways.  I missed her these past few years.   I so hoped she would return to care for us and I'm terribly sad to hear of her passing.

I miss Dr. Luu. She was my primary physician for many years and my favorite doctor. She has this serious, no nonsense look at times, yet warm and caring. She always reminds me to take time out from work to exercise. I kept hoping that she would be back and I can tell her that I have been doing better. I am truly saddened to learn about her passing. May she rest in peace. 

I am so sorry to learn of Le Le’s passing.  I met Le Le around 15 years ago through mutual friends.  She was so sweet and caring that it’s no surprise to know that she was loved by her patients and other friends.  Not to mention her family.  I know they will miss her terribly.  It also did my heart good to see her friendship with  my wife grow over the years they knew each other.  Finally, I’ve not forgotten how attentive and caring she was several years ago when I broke my foot and developed a blood clot.  She never let more than a few days pass before checking in on me and offering helpful advise on how best to get through it.  We miss you Le Le and look forward to seeing you again on high someday.  Praying for Scott, her parents, and her whole family at this terribly difficult time.

Dr. Luu was my physician for 15 or so years at Rockville Internal Medicine Group.  She had a great bedside manner.  Her gentle and compassionate approach to medicine, sunny smile and professionalism were all gifts to her patients.  She never gave up on me, even though I was not the easiest person in the world to work with.  Often Dr. Luu telephoned me with scary lab results, but she would take the time to explain them to me, thereby easing the sting.  She took a genuine interest in her patients and their families.  At one point, my mother-in-law needed medical help, but she was quite old, frail and profoundly distrustful of doctors.  Dr. Luu kindly agreed to examine her.  It is amazing to say that she established a rapport with my mother-in-law and prescribed her medicine that really helped her.  I only wish that I had had the chance to say thanks and goodbye to the good doctor.  She was a beautiful person both inside and out.

Will miss you Le Le, in this time, and for this season. There is a sense of heaviness and loss, but there is also consolation knowing that she has gone home. Thank you Le Le for your faith and courage, for spending time to help pray for others, and for sharing your life caringly and compassionately with all those who had the privilege of knowing you. One day over God's rainbow of promise, we will see you again. My sincere prayers go out to her family and friends, for strength in a time of loss.

Dr. Luu was my PCP for nearly 16 years.  She had an uncanny ability to truly listen to her patients.  I felt heard, I felt safe and I felt at ease with her.   When I would come for an annual visit or if I was dealing with a health issue, I felt as though I had 100% of her focus the entire time she was with me.  Like nothing else mattered except for caring for me.  I never felt rushed with her, I felt like I could ask her any question and she would take the time to make sure I understood the answer.  She always greeted me with a sweet warm smile, like I was a friend or family member.  I will truly miss her.  My heart goes out to her family, her friends, her colleagues, and her patients.  She was loved and respected by many and will not be forgotten.

Dr Luu was the only doctor that I sincerely expressed to her that she truly was the best doctor I have ever gone to.  I remembered that she said, “thank you, you just made my day!”.  The medical field and our world is at a loss today.  So sorry for your loss.  Jennifer Walker, patient. 

I am heartbroken at the news of the loss of Dr Luu.  Unbeknownst to us both, we had been Chemistry majors at Boston U at the same time, one year apart. I truly believe she was meant to be my doctor and it was always a pleasure to see her. Dr. Luu was my doctor at RIMG for over 15 years. I was always so impressed when she would call me after 6 in the evening or later or very early the next morning to give me the results of my blood work. She was the only doctor who discovered I had a continuing health issue. When you went to see Dr. Luu you knew you would feel better than when you arrived. You were being taken care of by an intelligent, knowledgeable, caring doctor who took an interest in your health. My heart is heavy. We have all lost someone very special. 

Dr Luu was very caring, smart and insightful. She was my doctor from 2006 till she fell sick. I liked her so much I recommended her to my mother and daughter and she took care of all three of us. I will miss her.



Dr. Luu was my physician for 12+ years, until she went on medical leave.  I never stopped hoping she would return.  She guided me through various issues over the years with the utmost professionalism.  She was so knowledgeable, supportive, and caring.  She explained everything thoroughly and well, and never seemed rushed.  She was warm and had a sweet sense of humor.  In our last conversation, I finally managed to have her call me by my first name (after years of trying unsuccessfully) -- we had a good laugh over that.  I am so sorry for this devastating loss to all who loved her, and the many who thought the world of her.

My heart is broken. Dr Luu was the best. She was that doctor that you always searched for and hoped you would be lucky enough to get. I loved our conversations during my office visits. When my son was getting out of the hospital and needed a doctor I called Dr Luu and she took him in as a patient. There are not enough superlatives to describe the wonderful person and doctor she was. We will miss her very much. 

Tears are in my eyes. I can’t believe this sad news. Dr. Luu was my physician for years till she was sick. She always squeezed a time for me or even work overtime just to make sure I am ok. She cares about her patient and is very professional and accurate on diagnostics. What a  amazing doctor and a great person we lost!  I will miss her forever! 

I believe I may have been among Dr. Le Le Luu’s first patients at Rockville Internal Medicine Group.  My first extraordinary impression prevailed for years .  I do believe she was born to be the professional she was. Her breadth of knowledge and demeanor always inspired confidence in her advice and direction.  Her humor always made me smile.

It is with great sadness and shock that I hear the news of Dr. Luu’s passing.  She was the best physician I ever had and for most of my adult life.  She left no stone unturned when it came to my health and I greatly respected her professional care.  I will continue to miss her presence here on earth and know she is on a different and special path now.  She left a great legacy and helped many people during her career. Dr. Luu was my doctor for many years at RIMG.  She was a great doctor and took the time to discuss my medical concerns.  She took the time to know all her patients.  I am sorry to hear the news of her passing.  My condolences to her family and loved ones. 

Dr Luu was my doctor for many years at RIMG. She was a very smart, thorough, and caring doctor who helped me in many ways.  I was very saddened by her passing especially at her young age.  Please accept my sincerest condolences.  She will be missed.  

LeLe was one of the best doctors I have ever had the privilege to work with.   Her memory is eternal because she touched the lives of so many.
