Larry Hollen

Larry Hollen, born in Ten Mile, West Virginia on August 8, 1944 and a long -time resident of Falls Church, Va., passed away June 25, 2015. Larry will be remembered for his love of family, friends and the great outdoors. He was passionate about watching his grandchildren play hockey and softball; enjoying time with his brothers & sisters; his annual fishing trips to Canada; family vacations at the beach; and eating vanilla ice cream.

He is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Larry T. ("LT") and Vera Hollen; his two grandchildren, Larry Hollen, Jr. ("T.J.") (age 19) and Maryann Hollen (age 16) and his siblings, Marilyn Osburn, Samuel Hollen, Karen Sipes, Darlene Smith, Ina Blomeyer, Tom Hollen and Kim Hafford. He is proceeded in death by his father, Burl McCoy Hollen and mother, Texa DeBarr Hollen and his sister, Amy Hollen.

Larry had a profound respect for the brave men and women in the military, police force and fire departments. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that tax deductible donations be made in Larry’s name to the Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., P.O. Box 13, Dunn Loring, VA 22027.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046 on Sunday, June 28th From 2 to 4 p.m. Services will be held in Buckhannon, West Virginia on Thursday, July 2, 2015.
