Kurt was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 20, 1948 and grew up in Falls Church, Virginia. After graduating from Falls Church High School, he served four years in the U.S. Navy, where he traveled the world. He worked as a radio technician for the Metropolitan Transit Authority for over thirty years.
Kurt was a collector, an avid ham radio operator, and a Dixieland Jazz and Big Band enthusiast. He loved Opel cars, antique radios, and anything from the 1940’s and 50’s. You could often find him blasting his favorite music and tinkering with radio projects in his Falls Church home. Kurt loved his brother and sisters (and their families) deeply - he was always the first to arrive and the last to leave any family functions. He was known for his sharp wit and adept ability to bring lightness and humor to any situation. He will be profoundly missed.
Kurt is survived by his two sisters, Elaine Nunnally of Leesburg, Virginia, and Diane Zaidan, of Falmouth, Virginia. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Wehle, of Stafford, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donation checks in Kurt’s honor may be sent to Vienna Wireless Society, of which he was a member for many years: Vienna Wireless Society, Inc. P.O. Box 418, Vienna, VA 22183.
A burial service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11:00 am at National Funeral Home & National Memorial Park, located at 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042.
