Joyce L Thompson

Joyce Lee Thompson, 84, of Springfield passed away peacefully on June 7, 2016. She was born on October 15, 1931 in Cabin John, MD; the daughter of Thomas Hubert and Lillian (Baker) Woltz. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gerald G. Thompson. She is survived by her loving children Beverly T. Armbruster and husband Robert, Daniel S. Thompson and his wife Jan, Deborah T. King and husband Michael; cherished grandchildren Tom Armbruster and his wife Becki, Stephen Armbruster and his wife Ashley, Ashleigh Bleeker and her husband Eric, Erin Field and her husband Kyle, David King and his fiancée Karen Bielak, Bryan King, Jason King and his wife Katie, and great-grandchildren Elizabeth Bleeker, Penelope Field and Bryce Armbruster. Also surviving her are brothers Jim Woltz and wife Lorraine, Al Woltz and wife Peggy, a sister, Janice Lahargoue and husband Stan and a sister-in-law Betty Thompson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 12:00p.m., with a reception to follow on site. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges, www.vfic.org.
