Joseph Eugene Ryan

Joseph Eugene Ryan, 58, of Warrenton passed peacefully at home, on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Born November 9, 1955 in Washington, D.C., Joseph became a devoted family man and enjoyed a gratifying career in the field of Information Technology. He most recently served as Director, Interfaces and Support Processes Division, Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen E. Ryan; two children, Samantha M. Ryan and Adam J. Ryan of Warrenton, VA and siblings, Katherine Griffin and Paul Miller, Jr. both of Annandale, VA. He is also survived by aunts Patricia Ryan and Barbara Ryan, father Joseph J. Ryan, nieces and nephews Jessica Long, Melissa Kline, Ashley Griffin, Daniel Griffin. He is preceded in death by his mother Marlene Tyrrell Miller, stepfather Paul H. Miller, grandparents Joseph J. and Ruth Ryan, and Melvin and Margaret Tyrrell, brother Robert K. Ryan, and uncle Stephen Ryan. Joe was an active volunteer, an outdoorsman, a skilled mechanic, and a good friend to many. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends but he will remain in their hearts forever.
