Joan A. Gibbons, 89, born into eternal life on June 21, 2021, beloved wife of the late Capt. John P. Gibbons USN (Ret) - father of John, Jane (Gollup), Richard, Mary (Skinner), Kevin, William, Thomas, Chuck, Peter, Christopher, Sally (Waugh) and Ann (Rosenblum); beloved daughter of the late William and Margaret McCrave Abrams; loving sister of the late Ann Abrams, the late Catherine Abrams, the late Peg Gibbons, and Kathleen Cleary. “Joanie” was dearly loved by many members of her extended family. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, Aug 14, at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terr., McLean, VA, for memorial visitation at 10 am., prior to Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
