Jeanne Blanchard Fites

After college, Jeanne began her life of service with the Department of Defense at the Pentagon. She spent her entire career there, earning the highest possible rank in Senior Executive Service, building many life-long friendships and always being a champion for women in the workplace.

She now meets her dear husband Mack, a former Marine officer whom she married in 1970 and lost in 2004. She is survived by her three brothers Al, Gary and Jeff and their families, her daughter Kristi, granddaughter Heather, son David, his wife Julie and granddaughter Tatum. All her loving family and friends will remember her sharp mind, great sense of humor and strength.

A celebration of her life will begin at 1:30pm on Saturday, March 12 at Sleepy Hollow United Methodist Church with an optional viewing to precede the service starting at 12:45pm and a reception to follow.

She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brian Piccolo Fund for cancer research at Wake Forest. For more details on the service, please contact a family member or Murphy Funeral Home of Falls Church.
