Hilda Mae Goins, 87, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Willow Estates in Penn Laird. Mrs. Goins was born on June 6, 1926 in Alexandria and was the daughter of the late George Scott and Hattie Belle Grover Scott. She worked for many years as a dispatcher and enjoyed playing bingo with friends. On October 4, 1945 she married Dean Kenneth Goins Sr.; he preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Goins, and two brothers, and a sister.
Surviving family include her sons and daughters-in-law, Dean Kenneth "Kenny", Jr. and Karen Goins, Paul D. and Christine Goins, Beverly Wayne Goins, Kevin L. and Anne Goins; daughter and son-in-law, Janet G. and Joseph Miller; twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening, August 27, 2013, at the Kyger Funeral home, in Harrisonburg. A funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the funeral home, with Dr. Danny Davis officiating. The burial will follow at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA at 2pm.
