

Henry (Hank) Marcus Schreiber, a training office who worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for 34 years and worked as an Intelligence Analyst with the Department of the Air Force for 4 years prior to that, died on June 17th at his home in Bethesda, Maryland. He died of heart disease. He was 93 years old.
Mr. Schreiber grew up in Winthrop, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. He attended undergraduate school at the University of massachusetts (Amherst) and graduate school at Boston University, where he received his Masters and Doctoral degrees in history. During World War II, he served on USS Tarbell (a Destroyer) in the Atlantic.
After the War, he married his wife Mary (deceased 2004). He moved to Washington, D.C. in 1951 to work for the Air Force as an intelligence analyst with a specialty in Soviet Military. Four years later, he transferred to the Central Intelligence Agency as a training officer.
He was selected to be the CIA representative as a faculty member at the Naval War College in Newport , Rhode Island. He taught there for seven years. After returning to Bethesda, he retired from Federal service in 1989.
Four years ago, he moved to the Maplewood park Place senior community in Bethesda, Maryland. He acted as secretary of the COOP Board there. He also enjoyed many activit5ies including travel, tennis, bridge and Trivia night. He was a voracious reader and an avid sports fan.
He was devoted husband, a great father, and a wonderful grandfather. Survivors include two daughters, Berta Schreiber (John Wengle) of Bethesda, and Deborah Schreiber Rodriguez (terrence Hamilton) of Mitchellville, and two grandchildren, Erik and Luke Wengle. His daughter, Abigail Schreiber Kelly, died in 1988.
