Glenda arrived into the world born in Washington, DC to the late William and Myra Sullivan in September 1935. She graduated from Lackey High School in Indian Head, MD and then moved to Washington, DC where she attended school and began her career working for a prominent law firm and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Living a few blocks away from the White House, she loved the excitement of the city! She later met and married her husband, Dillard Coleman and recently celebrated their 65th Anniversary. For 37 years, Glenda was an integral part of making the family’s business a success. Dillard and Glenda also enjoyed traveling to many places all over the world, but one of her favorite places was to be by the ocean in Myrtle Beach.
Glenda was a loving mother of three and the matriarch of her family. She devoted her life to her children and lived life to the fullest with grace, amazing style and happiness. Her grandchildren called her “Glamma” which says it all.
Glenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, her children, brother, grandchildren and many loving relatives and close friends.
Memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association or New Life Church in Punta Gorda. The family of Glenda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her many doctors, nurses, Tidewell Hospice, New Life Church and all of her family and friends.
