

Erika Lore (Goldberg) Robinson of Arlington, VA peacefully passed away in her home on Sunday, October 17 at the wondrous age of 99. Born in Hildesheim, Germany on May 17, 1922 to Senta (Frank) and Erich Goldberg, Erika was predeceased by her two sisters, Meta Pollack and Sylvia Schimmerman.
Erika immigrated to the US in 1936 at the age of 13, settling in the District of Columbia. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of George Washington University, and explored a number of careers, including as a research information specialist for DC Public Schools. She was a Holocaust survivor and long-time member of Congregation Etz Hayim. She treasured her friends and family, traveling, reading periodicals, and stamp & coin collecting.
Erika was the beloved wife of (late) Norman Robinson for 66 years, and loving mother and mother-in-law to her three children and their spouses, Ken (Ginny) Robinson of Prince George, VA, Marlene (Jim) Schillinger of Prince George, VA, and Lorraine (Bernie) Der of Hamilton, MA. She was an adored Oma to 7 beloved grandchildren, Aaron Schillinger of Detroit, Michigan, Lindsey (Keaton) Drake of Charlotte, NC, Bryan (Rebecca) Schillinger of College Station, TX, Rebecca (Audrianna) Robinson of Revere, MA, Lauren (Scott) Carpenter of Richmond, VA, Eric Der of Somerville, MA, and Eva Der of Hamilton, MA. She is also survived by her caregiver, Zeny Belcher, who lovingly cared for her the last year and a half of her life.
Funeral services will be held at Congregation Etz Hayim, 2920 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA on Friday, October 22. Burial will be at King David Memorial Garden, Falls Church, VA immediately following. Donations in Erika’s honor can be made to Congregation Etz Hayim and to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
