Elaine W Thompson

Elaine Wanda Thompson, 64, of Centennial, Colorado, our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away suddenly October 13, 2015. She was born November 18, 1950 in Alexandria, Virginia to Lt. Col. E. Wimer (USAF Ret.) and Irma F. Thompson. Elaine was fortunate to have lived in many different places while growing up with her family, including Virginia, Japan, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Germany and Ohio. She attended and graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 1974. Elaine moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1982. In the spring of 1997, she met Dave and they were married July 31, 1999. She worked in various medical services positions at Porter Adventist Hospital and oxygen sales at Lincare Inc., until she retired in 2010 to lovingly take care of her mother, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 99. Elaine loved the Colorado mountains and participated in such activities as hiking (including climbing a number of "14ers"), mountain biking, skiing and snowshoeing. She was also an avid gardener and home decorator. Most of all, though, Elaine loved spending time with her family and friends, developed quite an "extended family", and loved walking her dog, Suki. She regularly attended Fellowship Community Church, where she was planning to become more involved in the coming years. Elaine is survived by her husband, David M. Bott; daughter and son-in-law, Jasmine and Nathan Thompson; and sister, Anita F. Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Funeral service for Elaine will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015, 2:00pm, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Denver, CO 80014. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 12 Noon, where Elaine will be laid to rest beside her parents in the National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.
