Buster Delp passed away on September 23, 2011 in Gainesville, VA. Born on August 8, 1924 in North Beach, MD he lived most of his life in Falls Church, VA and surrounding areas and retired from full-time employment with the Washington Gas Company where he worked as a meter reader for many years and later in the Springfield location in shipping and receiving. He also worked part-time with A & P Food Stores. Buster was married 60 years to his late wife Mary who passed away in April 2009. Buster loved the lord, his family and his church. He and Mary were charter members at Arlington Assembly of God and later Burke Lake Assembly of God now known as Jubilee Christian Center. Buster’s willingness to give and care for others was most commonly seen in his desire to give blood to the American Red Cross, from whom he received recognition for donating over 2 gallons of blood over many years.
Buster is survived by his four children, Sharon Jones and her husband Jim, Jay Delp and his wife Deborah, Nena Marescalco and her husband Kenneth and Regina LaClair and her husband Daryl LaClair. He is also survived by his grandchildren Zachary Delp, Jennifer Gregory and her husband Michael, Mathew LaClair and Katie LaClair as well as his great grandchildren Cameron and Gavyn Gregory. Buster is also survived by his nephew Thomas Jones and his daughters Denise and Christine.
