Charles Woody was born in North Carolina to Jim Woody and Pearl Ricker on May 8, 1936. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked in security and facility management for Verizon. After he retired, he loved gardening, volunteering for Fairfax Area Agency on Aging, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Pearl Woody; sister Mabel Flanagan, brothers Wayne, Jack, Bill Joe, Reed, and Bobby Woody.
He is survived by his wife Gwen Woody, son Harold (Mary Beth); grandchildren, Ryan and Renee.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Great Falls Assisted Living and InSight Memory Care for their continuous love, care and support.
A graveside service will be held later in October at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia.
