Belinda Nichole Ryan Robertson

Belinda loved and was loved by her family and friends. With a twinkle in her eye, a wonderful smile, and beautiful rosy cheeks, Belinda Nichole (Ryan) Robertson was a beacon of love, faith, hope and joy.

Born November 1, 1977 in Cumberland, Maryland to her adoring parents, Lenora E (Brooks) Ryan (deceased) and Michael D. Ryan. Belinda gave her life to Christ at an early age, joining the then Woodlawn Baptist Church (now Pillar Church of Woodlawn). Beginning in childhood, she was always a kind and loving Christian woman. Never one to want to stand out in a crowd, nor easily accept praise, she would quietly work behind the scenes helping others until her death on February 3, 2022. Belinda was not only a sister to her siblings, Candice and Michael, Jr., but upon the death of her mother, she unassumingly stepped in as their pseudo-mother.

Belinda graduated from Gar-Field High School and went on to receive her degree in psychology from George Mason University and her Master’s degree in Science and Education from the University of Miami.

After graduating high school, Belinda worked at the Malloy car dealership in Woodbridge, Virginia, where she met and married her lifelong partner, best friend and the love of her life Stephen B. Robertson. Belinda and Steve relocated to Miami, FL where they knew no one; just one of many major challenges she accepted with grace. Belinda was adventurous and loved to travel; traveling to Europe, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean, making life-long friends in just about every port. She also found some of her greatest enjoyment in reading, drawing, and spending time with family and friends. She was always the consummate host to anyone when visiting her home in Miami. Belinda lived her best life!

Belinda was the gift that always gave of her time, talents and finances. She worked as an Alzheimer’s and cancer research specialist at the University of Miami, not only furthering research into causes and cures, but also developing true friendships with the participants in the research studies. She was an advocate for women, children and the less fortunate. She was a philanthropist; giving to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the See Mason Run charity, Planned Parenthood, Habitat for Humanity and The Southern Poverty Law Center. These were just a few of the charities and causes dear to her.

Belinda leaves to grieve, but also to rejoice in her spirit returning to our Father in heaven, her loving and devoted husband, Steve; her father, Michael, her sister, Candice and her brother, Mike, Jr., her grandmother, Doris M. Ryan; and aunts and uncles: Sylvia (Greg) Hill, Debbie Twyman, Ruby (William) Campbell, Sharon (Robert) Harper; Mitchell (Kimberly) Ryan, Cheryl Ryan and Sheila Ryan and a full host of cousins, great aunts and uncles, godchildren and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora Evelyn Brooks Ryan, her cousin Dawn Hill; her grandparents James Lillian and Clifton Brooks and her grandfather Leonard C. Ryan.
