With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ann Blake Byers (92), also known as ‘Tink’ to so many, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend of all whose lives she touched, on May 27, 2022 in her home in Falls Church, Virginia.
Ann was born in the Clinton Township of New Jersey to Frank Edward Blake & Sarah McIlwain Campbell Blake on March 30, 1930. She was raised by her aunt and uncle in Oakton, Virginia with her three cousins, Wilson Campbell (deceased), Wesley Campbell, and Colleen (Campbell) Garner. She graduated from Fairfax High School and married Raymond B Byers of Arlington, Virginia on February 18, 1956 in (Falls Church, Virginia.
She worked as a Customer Service Supervisor/Service Order Trainer & Supervisor for C&P Telephone now Verizon for 39 years.
She never met a stranger and her heart reached out to everyone. Therefore, she always had a full house.
Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B Byers, a son, Robert Allan Byers, both parents, and her 7 siblings.
Annie is survived by her children, Linda Byers, Betty Byers, Wesley Byers and Brenda Fisher, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a plethora of others in need of a family that were brought into the family through the years.
In lieu of any flowers, Ann requested that memorial donations be made to “Christ in Action” at 21465 Business Court, Elkwood, VA 22718
There will be two viewings (visitations) on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at National Memorial Funeral Home located at 7482 Lee Highway in Falls Church, Virginia. One will be from 2:00-4:00PM and the other will be from 6:00-8:00PM.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2022 with Ron Peoples, an Elder of Immanuel Bible Church, officiating. Burial will follow at National Memorial Park. A Reception will be held following the burial at, The American Legion, 400 N. Oak St., Falls Church, VA 22046 till 2pm. Arrangements are by National Funeral Home.
